history

There are different details about the construction period. While the Brandenburg State Office for the Preservation of Monuments and State Archaeological Museum (BLDAM) and the Dehio Handbook specify the period from 1716 to 1718, the period up to 1720 is given on the parish's website. It was restored in 1924/1925 and in 1992-1995.

Building description

View from the southeast

Craftsmen erected a half-timbered building , the compartment of which was built between the black painted wooden beams made of clay and straw. The choir has not moved in and has a five-eighth closing . In each field there is a simple, rectangular window.

The nave has a rectangular floor plan. There are three tall rectangular windows on the north side. Two such windows are installed on the south side; in the middle is a porch with a rectangular floor plan and a sundial dated 1805.

This is followed by the west tower . The western front is windowless. A square spire with a sound arcade on each of the four sides rises above it . Above is a pyramid roof with a tower ball and weather vane .

Furnishing

The church furnishings were redesigned in 1924 and 1925. The pulpit altar from 1719, which was built by D. Zeidler in Werder (Havel) , was also included in the new version . He was previously in the church in Saarmund . The Lord's Supper can be seen below the polygonal pulpit . Craftsmen added winding columns and carved cheeks to the side.

Further furnishings include an oil painting from the 18th century showing John the Baptist . A wooden crucifix dates from the second half of the 15th century. The west gallery , the chairs and the windows were replaced in 1924/1925.

In the cemetery there is a grave stele for Kurt Breysig, who died in 1940 .
