The village church in Blumenow (a district of the city of Fürstenberg / Havel ) in the Oberhavel district ( Brandenburg ) is an early Gothic church building from the second half of the 13th century and a registered monument. It belongs to the parish Tornow-Marienthal in the parish of Oberes Havelland of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .

History and architecture

The church building is a rectangular field stone building with a sacristy on the north wall (in the choir area) and a west transverse tower, which was built in the building structure, but was not raised in the Middle Ages. It was built in the second half of the 13th century due to the masonry and the style elements. The square tower top dates from 1716 or the current appearance with a Welsch hood and high lantern from a renovation in 1912. A representative two-storey patron s lodge , which is now plastered, was probably added to the south wall of the church in the 18th century . In the west side, the original, triple-stepped, pointed arch west portal with an accompanying layer has been preserved. In contrast, the portals on the long sides of the church were added. The original inventory also includes three lancet windows on the east side. The remaining windows were changed in the baroque period . The interior of the nave has a cove ceiling with a frame division from 1912. Inside the church there is a stuccoed field on the north wall from 1717 with the coats of arms of the landowner family v. Oertzen and the v. Treskow . The wooden west gallery dates from the first half of the 17th century and shows emblematic paintings on the parapet. The patronage box opens to the ship through three arched openings; they are glazed. The ridge vault in the basement of the tower dates from 1912.

Furnishing

The wooden altarpiece from the first half of the 17th century was damaged in 1945. It is a two-story structure with double columns. On the side of the predella are paintings of the four evangelists . On the main floor and in the extension there are reliefs of the Holy Trinity and the Crucifixion . The essay closes at the top with ray glory and flame vases from the end of the 18th century. Figures of saints from the late 15th century used to be placed in the altar; they have been removed for security reasons and are kept under lock and key. The carved, wooden pulpit dates from the beginning of the 17th century. The polygonal pulpit rests on three pillars. The fields of the parapet are painted with pictures of the evangelists, below there are angel heads. The sound cover is crowned with the tablets of the law ; it dates from the 18th century. Another piece of equipment is a pastor's chair in the church. The door leaves are painted with pictures of the repentant customs officer and David with the harp. The organ is a work by Felix Grüneberg from 1907 with five stops on a manual and pedal .
