The village church Krausnick is the Protestant church in the village of Krausnick in Brandenburg , which belongs to the municipality of Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg . It belongs to the Evangelical Parish Krausnick-Neu Schadow in the Lower Lusatia parish of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .

Architecture and history

The church is known for its unusual floor plan in the form of a Greek cross . It was built as a half-timbered building between 1726 and 1728 on an elevation north of the village. The model was the first Luisenstadt church built by Martin Grünberg in Berlin . The builder was Friedrich Erdmann von Oppen. Entrances to the church were created on the east, south and north arms of the cross. A patronage box was built in the southern arm . In this area the windows are laid out on two floors. The other windows are designed as flat arches and begin at the height of the gallery. The church is covered by a hipped roof. In the center of the cross rises an octagonal, planked tower with a lantern and curved dome. There is a clock on the tower.

In the years 1884/85 the church was rebuilt. The southern patron s box and the crypt located there were converted into an organ gallery. Restorations took place in 1981/82 and from 1992 to 1994.

Furnishing

The ceiling of the interior is designed as a wooden hollow vault. The northern and southern arms of the cross have their own ceiling. Inside the church there is a gallery running around on three sides. The organ gallery in the south is not included. The gallery is supported by columns that reach up to the ceiling. On the north side, the gallery becomes narrower, giving space to the freestanding pulpit altar . The pulpit altar dates from around 1740. It is laid out in the shape of an aedicula . The pulpit is located between double Corinthian columns and is polygonal , with the heads of putti at its corners . An octagonal sound cover rests above the pulpit, on which there is an attachment with palm branches and a coat of arms. The coat of arms with a crown and the monogram A.W. is that of the founder August Wilhelm of Prussia . The pulpit altar is crowned by a radiant sun and trumpet angels.

A simple, wooden, octagonal baptism dates from around 1800 and is decorated with rosettes.

organ

The organ , which was built in 1884 and is located on the southern gallery , was created by the organ builder Albert Lang from Berlin. The slider chest instrument has 8 registers on a manual and pedal. The actions are mechanical.
