History and architecture

The flat-roofed building was probably built in field stone in the 13th century . The west tower with additions in brick stands over a rectangular floor plan. The retracted choir was added in brick in the 15th century. The eastern gables of the choir and nave are equipped with simple panels. The building was extensively rebuilt in 1663, with the choir walls changed. In the nave there are remains of wall paintings , probably from the middle of the 17th century, depicting John the Baptist, among others. The return portal in the west wall is particularly rich. A flat ceiling was drawn into the nave, the choir was equipped with a steep ribbed vault .

  • The organ and the gallery were erected in the 19th century.
