The Protestant village church Wartin is a Gothic hall church in the district of Wartin von Casekow in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the parish of Blumberg in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .

History and architecture

The church is a flat-roofed rectangular field stone building from the second half of the 13th century with a slightly wider west tower, which is crowned by a boarded tower with a slim spire from 1699. The tower was renovated in 1994–1998. In the north is the brick sacristy with a 15th century gable. In the south there is a vestibule with a staircase to the patron's box from the first half of the 17th century. In 1853 the windows were enlarged and the east gable was renewed in brick. Above the triple stepped west portal there are three flat round arch panels made of field stone, at the height of the eaves edge of the ship there is a recess in the west tower masonry. The interior of the building was restored in 1968 and 2003–2005; the west gallery dates from 1865.

Furnishing

The main piece of equipment is a stately wooden pulpit altar from 1715, which probably originates from the Rosenberg workshop in Szczecin. To the side of the pulpit, which is decorated with angels' heads and volutes on the basket edges, there are two columns each, which support an entablature with a segmented gable and are framed by carved cheeks. The altar is crowned with a wreath of clouds, glory rays and putti heads . The altar barrier is decorated with rich openwork carving. An almost life-size baptismal angel , standing upright on a small cloud, dates from 1708. An essay with rich acanthus carvings has been preserved from the patron's pew .

A silver-gilt chalice with a paten was created in 1734. A tablet with biblical text and a coat of arms are from the first half of the 18th century.

organ

The organ is a work by Joachim Wagner from 1744 with nine stops on a manual and pedal . The prospectus was created by the local organ builder Christian Friedrich Voigt and is crowned by trumpet angels and coats of arms. The organ's disposition was changed around 1850 and expanded by Barnim Grüneberg around 1900 . A restoration by the Schuke Orgelbau company was carried out in 2002. The disposition is:
