The village church Werbig is the Protestant church in the village of Werbig belonging to the city of Bad Belzig . It belongs to the Evangelical Church Community of St. Marien Hoher Fläming Bad Belzig of the parish of Mittelmark-Brandenburg of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia and is designated as a monument .

history

The village church of Werbig is a medieval stone church that has been structurally changed several times. The existing window openings and the church portal date from 1760. A gallery was also installed around this time . The church tower dates from the 19th century.

Building

In the nave of the hall church primarily ice-age boulders were built . In addition, bricks were mainly used as filling material and to wall the openings. Furthermore, the western gable is completely made of bricks. Above this is the square timber-framed church tower . It has sound openings for the bells . The windows in the ship and the portal are arched segments. There is a small arched window in the gable above the west portal . The roof of the ship is to the east hipped which the tower is a tent roof . The top is marked by the tower ball and weather vane .

Interior

Inside the church there is a horseshoe-shaped gallery. Two chandeliers from the 18th century are made of brass .
