Wulfersdorf village church

The Protestant village church of Wulfersdorf is a hall church from 1670 in Wulfersdorf , a residential area in the Giesensdorf district of the Tauche community in the Oder-Spree district in the state of Brandenburg . The church belongs to the parish of Oderland-Spree of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Oberlausitz .

location

The street Wulfersdorf leads from the northwest in a southeast direction through the village. There it spans the historic village green on which the church stands on a piece of land that is fenced in with a wall made of uncut and non-layered field stones .

history

The structure was erected in 1670 - presumably including a previous building. At that time the church patronage was that of Maltitz . The church was renovated in the 2010s. The building shell was repaired and the interior painting was renewed.

Building description

The church was essentially built from field stones, which were then plastered . The building has a rectangular floor plan. On the east wall there are three arched windows, the fins of which are highlighted again by painting. There are two large arched windows on the north and south sides. Access is via a multi-step portal from the south. It is pointed arch and was built from masonry. On the west wall is an oval window that - like the portal and the windows on the east side - date from the Middle Ages. A gable roof rises above the nave , sloping towards the east . In the west a boarded-up, windowless church tower rises from it, which ends with a pyramid roof and tower ball with a weather vane.

Furnishing

The church furnishings are uniformly baroque and date from the 18th century. The wooden pulpit altar has barriers on its sides that are provided with three columns. In the middle is a wooden crucifix . Behind it is the saying from the Passion “It is done”. Above the pulpit is a sound cover , the underside of which is decorated with a dove as a symbol of the Holy Spirit . On the front of the sound cover is the confession from the 1st letter of Paul to the Corinthians "All for the glory of God" 1 Cor 10.31  EU .

The fifth was also made of wood and is octagonal. Additional features include a horseshoe gallery with ornamentally painted parapets and other sayings from the Bible. In the west is an organ that comes from the Central German organ builder Arno Voigt . The organ builder built the instrument with two manuals , a pedal and eleven registers according to the parish in 1925. The Förderkreis Alte Kirchen Berlin-Brandenburg, however, assumes that the instrument was built between 1909 and 1912. The instrument is not playable in 2019.
