The Doue is a river in France that runs in the Doubs department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in the Jura .
geography
course
The Doue rises south of Abbévillers from a strong karst spring in the rock . The border with Switzerland runs about 150 m above the Source de la Doue . A part of the spring water emerging from the water cave is led through a concrete canal to operate a mill . The other part of the water tumbles down a small waterfall . The spring cave with its three siphons and several chimneys was explored by divers. The karst spring pours all year round.
After its origin, the Doue flows in a south-westerly direction, turns north-west just before Glay and receives the Creuse tributary . From a hydrological point of view, this point is often viewed as the confluence that forms the gland .
However, the Gland has its own small upper course that flows down from the west of Roches-lès-Blamont through the Combe de Vau . This then flows into Glay in the Doue, which runs to the north and takes its name.
