Douglas "Doug" Walgren (born December 28, 1940 in Rochester , New York ) is an American politician . Between 1977 and 1991 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Doug Walgren attended Mount Lebanon public schools . In 1958 he graduated from the local high school. This was followed by studies at Dartmouth College in Hanover ( New Hampshire ) until 1963 . After studying law at Stanford University in California and being admitted to the bar in 1966, he began to work in this profession in Pittsburgh . From 1973 to 1975 he was a legal advisor to Behavioral Research Laboratories, Inc. in Palo Alto .

Politically, Walgren joined the Democratic Party . In the congressional elections of 1976 he was in the 18th  electoral district of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC chosen, where he succeeded the most in the January 3, 1977 Senate exchanged Republican John Heinz took. After six re-elections, he was able to complete seven legislative terms in Congress by January 3, 1991 . In 1990 it was not confirmed.

Doug Walgren has been a policy advisor since the end of his tenure in the US House of Representatives. He lives in Mount Lebanon.
