Sir Harold Douglas Jackman , KBE , CB (* 26. October 1902 ; † 15. June 1991 ) was a British Lieutenant General ( Air Marshal ) of the Royal Air Force (RAF), the last 1958-1961 Commanding General of the Air Force maintenance commands ( RAF Maintenance Command ) was.

Life

Air force officer training and World War II

Jackman completed his training to become an Air Force officer and was taken over on October 9, 1926 as a Lieutenant (Pilot Officer) as a professional soldier (Permanent Commission) in the Royal Air Force. Post-war period and promotion to Air Marshal

After the end of the war, Jackman moved to the Air Staff in 1946 , where he was initially head of the unit for troop movements. Most recently Jackman replaced Air Marshal Richard Jordan as Commanding General AOC-in-C (Air Officer Commander-in-Chief) of the Air Force Maintenance Command ( RAF Maintenance Command ) on May 5, 1958 . In this application he was promoted to Lieutenant General ( Air Marshal ) on July 1, 1958 . In addition, he was beaten January 1, 1959 to Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) and then carried the suffix "Sir". On March 1, 1961, he was replaced by Major General Leslie Dalton-Morris as the commanding general of the Air Force Maintenance Command and retired on March 29, 1961.
