Douglas Morrow

Douglas Morrow (born September 13, 1913 in Oswego , New York , † September 9, 1994 in Kingston , New York) was an American actor , screenwriter and film producer who won the Oscar for best original story in 1950 .

Life

Morrow began his career in the Hollywood film industry in 1944 as an actor in the film Bathing Beauty and played supporting roles in five other films such as The Thin Man Returns Home (1945) by 1946 . In 1948 he wrote for the short film Where Will You Hide? first a template and then wrote the templates and scripts for over twenty other films and television series .

At the 1950 Academy Awards, he won the Oscar for Best Original Story for The Stratton Story (1949) by Sam Wood, starring James Stewart , June Allyson and Frank Morgan .

His script, written for the film Beyond All Doubts (1956), was used in 2009 for a remake of the material for the film Against Any Doubt . After 1962, Sun Valley one but unsold pilot had produced more than the manager of a hotel in a resort, he recently produced in 1973 by Daniel Mann with Bernie Casey , Bo Svenson and Janet MacLachlan directed film Maurie , for which he also screenplay written .
