Douglas Young

Douglas William Young SVD (born January 23, 1950 in Brisbane ) is Archbishop of Mount Hagen .

Life

Douglas William Young joined the order of the Steyler Missionaries and was ordained a priest on August 13, 1977 . Pope John Paul II appointed him on April 14, 2000 titular bishop of Rusubbicari and auxiliary bishop in Mount Hagen. The Archbishop of Mount Hagen, Michael Meier SVD, donated him the episcopal ordination on July 2nd of the same year; Co- consecrators were Ambrose Kiapseni MSC , Bishop of Kavieng , and Hermann Raich SVD, Bishop of Wabag .

On July 17, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . appointed Archbishop of Mount Hagen.
