Dov Hoenig (born April 24, 1932 ) is a film editor .

Life

After Dov Hoenig had edited the French documentary La chasse au lion à l'arc by Jean Rouch in 1967 , it was above all the films by the Israeli director Menahem Golan that he was responsible for editing in the years that followed. Among them were films like Tevje and his seven daughters , Margo Sheli and The Gangster Boss of New York . Hoenig also worked for years with the American director Michael Mann and edited all of his films from 1981 with The Loner to 1995 with Heat . Hoenig received an Eddie Award nomination in 1993 for editing Mann's The Last of the Mohicans .

Hoenig's last edit was Andrew Davis' Collateral Damage in 2002 . He 'd worked with Davis on Red Alert , A Perfect Murder, and Out of Control . For Auf der Flucht , another directorial work by Davis, Hoenig was nominated in 1994 for both a BAFTA Award for Best Editing and an Oscar / Best Editing .

Dov Hoenig is a member of the American Cinema Editors .
