Four-lane section of the D425 under construction

The Državna cesta D425 ( Croatian for 'national road D425') connects the port city of Ploče with the A1 motorway .

Due to the topographical conditions, the road from the Ploče service area consists of two separate two-lane carriageway areas. The connection to the national road D8 at the Rogotin junction in front of the existing bridge over the Neretva (just before the port of Ploče) is a two-lane version (also two-lane connection in the opposite direction D8-Čeveljuša).

The D425 was originally planned as part of the A10 motorway . However, these plans were changed after the expansion plans for the A1 had been finalized.

The final traffic release took place together with the sections from Vrgorac to Ploče and from Ploče to Metkovic of the A1 motorway on December 20, 2013.
