The Državna cesta D8 ( Croatian for 'national road D8') is the longest Croatian national road with 658 km and leads from the Slovenian border at Pasjak from Matulji along the Adriatic coast to the Montenegrin border at Karasovići . The D8 is by far the longest part of the Adriatic coastal road ( Jadranska Magistrala ).
Route
From Rijeka the route leads via Senj , Zadar , Šibenik , Split , Opuzen , Neum and Dubrovnik to the border to Montenegro. In Neum Agreement , the border is Bosnia and Herzegovina crossed twice. In Bosnian-Herzegovinian territory, the D8 is interrupted for 9.3 km and is designated as M2 there .
expansion
The D8 has already been expanded to four lanes in the urban area of Split. The sections from Trogir to Split and from Split to Omiš are currently being expanded. The work will not be completed before 2013.
