Dragan Kujović

Dragan Kujović (* 1948 in Kolašin ; † April 30, 2010 in Podgorica ) was a Yugoslav and Montenegrin politician .

Life

In 1972 he graduated from the University of Sarajevo with a degree in philosophy . In Kolašin he worked as a teacher at the grammar school , in addition, he was local chairman of the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia there . In the 1980s he was a member of the Montenegrin Parliament and the Council of Republics and Provinces of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia .

From December 1996 to July 2001 he was Minister of Education and Science of Montenegro , which at that time was part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . He belonged to the Democratic Party of Socialists . He was a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Montenegro and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament . After Filip Vujanović resigned as President of Parliament and Executive President on May 19, 2003, Kujović took over the office of President together with Rifat Rastoder . From May 19, 2003 to May 22, 2003, he was President of the Republic of Montenegro. He was instrumental in drafting the text of the constitution of the later confederation of Serbia and Montenegro .

Since 2005 he has been chairman of the Council for Security and Defense (Defense Committee of the Montenegrin Parliament).
