The Dreifaltigkeitskirche is a Catholic church in the Hemshof district of Ludwigshafen . It was built between 1899 and 1901 in the neo-Gothic style.

history

The first Catholic church in Ludwigshafen, which was only founded in the mid-19th century, was the St. Ludwig Church . During the industrialization, the city's population increased rapidly, so that another church building was necessary in the north. In 1889 a wooden emergency church was built and in 1891 an independent parish was established. In 1897 the construction of the Trinity Church finally began. The church, built according to the plans of the architect Wilhelm Schulte I , was inaugurated two years later.

The church was badly damaged during World War II . The reconstruction took place between 1952 and 1953 under the direction of the architects Wilhelm Schulte II. And Heinrich Hebgen. In 2002 the parishes of the northern inner city of St. Trinity, St. Mary and Holy Cross were merged to form the parish of St. Trinity.
