history

Chapel in Dreisbach

The oldest documented source that Dreisbach mentions dates from the 14th century. In Dreisbach it has always been possible to cross the Saar by ferry; therefore St. Nicholas , patron saint of boatmen, is particularly venerated. In the local chapel there is a statue of the saint and on the other side of the Saar there is a Nikolauskapelle within the Saar loop.

On January 1, 1974, Dreisbach was incorporated into the municipality of Mettlach.
