Duba (German Leißnersberg ) is a village in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in north-eastern Poland. The place belongs to Gmina Zalewo in Powiat Iławski .

Duba is located in the moraine landscape of the Oberland , about twelve kilometers southeast of Zalewo. The place is located directly on the western steep bank of the Jezioro Dauby (German Dubensee ).

The Leißnersberg estate was founded in 1714 by the tribunal councilor Johann Albrecht von Schönaich in the southern part of the Schnellwalde district. He wanted to consider all of his children in the year he died and therefore founded:

"1. A new village, called Schönaich, holds 15 hubs, 2. A Vorwerk, called Herrlichkeit, 3. 2 villages, called Albrechtswalde and Leusnersberg. "

The name Leißnersberg is derived from the nickname "Leuschchen" of his daughter Marie-Luise.

For further history see also Boreczno .

After incorporation into the Polish state, Leißnersberg was renamed Duba and in 1946 joined the Gmina Boreczno. From 1952 to 1973 Duba formed a Gromada in the powiat Morąski . Duba has belonged to Gmina Zalewo since 1973 and today forms its own school administration office , to which Huta Wielka (Albrechtswalde) still belongs.
