Duna Televízió ( dt. Danube Television ) was an independent public broadcasting company based in Budapest , which has set itself the goal of bringing news and cultural aspects of their homeland closer to Hungarians living abroad. The program, which has been distributed via satellite since December 1992, is primarily based on the Hungarian language , but also offers bilingual or subtitled magazines for foreigners or the descendants of Hungarian minorities, for example in Transylvania or Slovakia . The associated station has been called Duna since 2012 .

After the amendment to the Hungarian media law on July 1, 2015, the Duna channels and the secondary channel Duna World became part of the only national broadcasting group Duna Média .

Duna is distributed throughout Hungary via DVB-T and can be received unencrypted across Europe via the Eurobird 9A satellite at 9 ° East. Further broadcasts in the pay TV packages are encrypted and require a corresponding smart card for decryption. Duna is also fed digitally into European cable networks. In France z.
