Duncan Jones (born September 18, 1978 in Neath , Neath Port Talbot ) is a Welsh rugby union player who is used on the position of the pillar . He is part of the Welsh national team and active for the Ospreys . Despite his stature, he is one of the most agile players in his position.

Jones made his debut for the national team against Australia in 2001 and was a permanent member of the team until the 2003 World Cup . He was also nominated for the World Cup squad and was part of the regular formation in all games until he broke an ankle against Italy . This injury put him out of action for a few weeks, but he was able to participate in the following Six Nations again. A year later Wales won the Grand Slam at that tournament , but Jones was injured again. He came back stronger and because of his outstanding performance he was awarded the captaincy, which he took over during the summer tour to Argentina . He had also been appointed captain of the Ospreys and led them to the championship title in the Magners League .

At the 2007 World Cup , Jones was part of the Welsh squad but only played one game from the start. Also in the Six Nations he lost his regular place to Gethin Jenkins after two games. In the decisive game against France he made his 50th appearance for Wales. Due to an injury, he was unable to participate in the 2009 Six Nations .

Because of his hairstyle, he and his national team colleague Adam Rhys Jones are known as "Hair Bears".
