Dylan Mark Postl (born May 29, 1986 in Oshkosh , Wisconsin ), better known as Hornswoggle , is a short American wrestler . He was mainly known for his appearances in the wrestling shows produced by the WWE . He is also the first short wrestler to hold a recognized WWE title. In 2014 he was seen as a leprechaun in the film Leprechaun: Origins . He is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling , where he performs under the ring name Swoggle .

Career

NWA Wisconsin

Postl became known for his appearances in the NWA Wisconsin, where he won the NWA Wisconsin X Division Title in a Fatal 4 Way Match .

WWE

SmackDown!

In 2006 he signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment , making him the fourth wrestler after Daivari , Mr. Kennedy and CM Punk to move from NWA Wisconsin to WWE. He made his first appearance on WWE Unlimited with Snitsky , Goldust and Candice Michelle .

On May 26, 2006, Postl made his SmackDown debut with the gimmick of an Irish leprechaun , who from then on accompanied Finlay as a helper. Most of the time he was under the ring, waiting to be used. This was also the case on his debut when he attacked Paul Burchill after the match. Postl got the name "Little Bastard" as the official name after he was called by commentator Michael Cole at a match. Again and again he helped Finlay to win, such as the WWE United States Championship title match at the Great American Bash 2006 against William Regal .

At the Great American Bash 2007, Postl won the WWE Cruiserweight title in an Open Challenge , where he successfully pinned Jamie Noble . By winning the title, he holds the record as the smallest, lightest and youngest cruiserweight champion in World Wrestling Entertainment. After the Great American Bash, Jamie Noble started a feud against Hornswoggle, which he could never defeat.

On September 10, 2007 it was announced that Dylan Postl was Vince McMahon's illegitimate son , but this was just a storyline . On September 28th, the cruiserweight title was stripped from him by Vickie Guerrero. The storyline justification for this was that, as the son of Vince McMahon, he was too important to Vince McMahon and too big a target as the title holder. After that, Postl was seen more and more at Finlay's side. So he helped him in his feud with the Great Khali and then against JBL and his alleged father Vince McMahon. In the wake of this feud it was announced in March 2008 at an edition of the show RAW by the WWE that Hornswoggle was in reality the son of Finlay, this is also storyline.

RAW

As part of the draft lottery, Dylan Postl switched to the Monday program RAW on April 13, 2009 . There he tried to become a member of D-Generation X as part of the developed storyline . Accordingly, on December 21, 2009, Postl was declared the “official mascot” of Generation X by Triple H and Shawn Michaels on RAW .

SmackDown

Postl returned to SmackDown on April 26, 2010 as part of the WWE Draft. In season 5 of WWE NXT , he served as the pro of Titus O'Neil . The Hornswoggle character has been able to speak since the weeks before Christmas 2011, which was not the case before.

In 2015 he was suspended for 30 days for doping . On May 6, 2016, he was released from the WWE.

TNA

On December 15, 2016 at Total Nonstop Deletion he made his debut under the ring name Swoggle for TNA .
