Dylan James Alexander Ratigan (born April 19, 1972 in Saranac Lake , New York ) is an American journalist and television presenter . Ratigan hosted the eponymous program The Dylan Ratigan Show on the US news channel MSNBC .

Life and work

After attending school, Ratigan studied at Union College in Schenectady, New York, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political economy .

During the 1990s Ratigan worked as a business correspondent for Bloomberg Television and as a financial editor for Bloomberg News Service . During his time at Bloomberg he also developed the program Morning Call , which he also moderated at times. There were also articles published in newspapers such as the New York Times , the Washington Post , the Miami Herald and the Chicago Tribune, as well as contributions to ABC News .

In 2004 Ratigan received the Gerald Loeb Award for reporting on the Enron scandal.

From October 3, 2005 to January 2007, Ratigan hosted the program On the Money on the business news channel CNBC . He also took over the Bullseye program , which he presented for almost a year and a half. He later developed the show Fast Money with Susan Krakower , which he presented from June 21, 2006 until he left CNBC.

On June 29, 2009, Ratigan received a specially tailored program called Morning Meeting on MSNBC's weekday breakfast program. At the turn of the year 2009/2010 he left the program to instead take over the moderation of the Dylan Ratigan Show named after him , which MSNBC aired in the afternoon during the week. The show ran from January 11, 2010 to June 22, 2012.
