E Street Band
The E Street Band is an American musical group.
history
The E Street Band began in October 1972, officially from September 1974. It was inactive between 1989 and 1999, except for a brief reunion in 1995. Its band leader is US rock star Bruce Springsteen . The name of the band arose from the fact that one of the musicians at the time ( David Sancious ; keyboard) grew up on "E Street" in Belmar, New Jersey and the band was occasionally allowed to practice there in their mother's house.
In 2014, the E Street Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame .

Soozie Tyrell has played acoustic guitar, violin and backing vocals on all appearances and album recordings since 2002, but is not a regular member of the band. After the death of Danny Federici in April 2008, the keyboardist is replaced by Charles Giordano, who accompanied Bruce Springsteen during the Sessions Tour 2006. Giordano, like Tyrell, is not a regular member of the band. Federici made his last appearance on March 20, 2008 in Indianapolis. During the “Working on a Dream Tour” in 2009, the then 18-year-old Jay Weinberg represented his father Max at some concerts, including during parts of the Europa Leg.
On June 18, 2011, the saxophonist Clarence Clemons died of the effects of the stroke he had suffered six days earlier. During the “Wrecking Ball” tours in 2012 and 2013, his nephew Jake Clemons played the saxophone.
