ESPN Classic was a television station devoted to historic sporting events . On July 31, 2013, after the BT Group bought the ESPN TV operations in the UK, broadcast operations together with ESPN America ceased.
General information
The station was founded in May 1995 under the name Classic Sports Network in the USA and was taken over and renamed in October 1997 by the US sports broadcaster ESPN .
Historical sporting events, games and competitions, documentaries and athlete portraits were shown. Including the soccer world championship and other soccer tournaments or reviews of the Olympic Games .
The program was broadcast mainly in German and partly in English.

ESPN Classic came to Europe in 2002 and was digitally via satellite and cable in Germany from November 2004 to July 31, 2013 as part of the program bouquets from Eutelsat Kabelkiosk , Kabel BW , ewt multimedia , Unitymedia , wilhelm.tel and Primacom as well as via IPTV Telekom Entertain broadcast.
