history

The FC Pinzgau Saalfelden was founded on May 23, 2007 and emerged from the two clubs 1. Saalfeldner SK and ESV Saalfelden . From 2004 to 2007 the two clubs took part in the championship as SG Saalfelden . Already in the first year 2005 the promotion to the Salzburg regional league could be achieved. In addition to legionnaires from Hungary, Unterberger (Maishofen), Mühlbacher (Hochfilzen), the squad consisted of self-made players.

In addition to the fighting team that currently plays in the Regionalliga West , a second team, FC Pinzgau Saalfelden II, also takes part in the championship. The second team currently plays in the 2. Landesliga Süd . In the 2012/13 season, the club finished last in the Regionalliga West and had to relegate to the Salzburg League . In the following season 2013/14 the direct rise was achieved.
