Earl Alfred Boyea (born April 10, 1951 in Pontiac ) is an American clergyman and Bishop of Lansing .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Detroit , Joseph Leopold Imesch , ordained him a priest on May 20, 1978 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Detroit and titular bishop of Siccenna on July 22, 2002 . The Archbishop of Detroit , Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida , donated him episcopal ordination on September 13 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Timothy Paul Andrew Broglio , Apostolic Nuncio to the Dominican Republic , and Thomas Joseph Tobin , Bishop of Youngstown .

He was named Bishop of Lansing on February 27, 2008, and initiated into the office on April 29 of the same year.
