East Pennsboro Township is a township in Cumberland County in the US state of Pennsylvania . At the time of the United States Census 2010 , the township had 20,228 residents. compared to 18,254 in 2000.

The township in the Harrisburg - Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area includes the parishes of Enola, Summerdale, West Enola, and West Fairview.

For example, Summerdale, a suburb of Harrisburg, is west of US Highway 11 on the Susquehanna River and south of Interstate 81 .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of ​​27.7 km 2 , of which 26.9 km 2 is land and 0.8 km 2 (or 2.90%) is water.

The township is located in the northeast corner of Cumberland County and is bordered to the east by the Susquehanna River , on whose eastern bank the Dauphin County lies. The township's natural northern boundary runs on the ridge of Blue Mountain , with Perry County on the north side. Conodoguinet Creek runs in several large arcs through the southern part of the township before it flows into the Susquehanna River between West Fairview and Wormleysburg.

The Highways US 11 / 15 run parallel to the Susquehanna River and is the main north-south route in the township. They are crossed by Pennsylvania Route 944, which runs east-west, at West Fairview . The Interstate 81 crosses the northern part of the township and crossing US 11/15 in Summerdale. Other notable streets in the township are Center Street / East Penn Drive, North Enola Drive, Salt Road, and Valley Road.
