BBL Cup 2017

The easycredit BBL-Pokal 2017 was the eighth edition of the cup competition in the German men's basketball club as the league cup of the first national basketball league . The organization of this competition is subordinate to the League Association of the Basketball Bundesliga and determines the German cup winner in club basketball for men.

The results in the first half of the Beko Basketball Bundesliga 2016/17 were decisive for qualifying for this competition . As in the previous year, a cup table was set up based on the results of the first half of the Bundesliga, in which the games of the host of the Final Fours were not taken into account.

In addition to the automatically qualified host, the six best-placed teams in this cup table were also qualified. The pairings were determined by lottery, which also decided on the home right in the qualifying round. The winner or advancement in the competition was determined in the knockout system within a regular basketball game.

Event

For the first time after the name sponsor changed, the competition was held as the easycredit BBL-Pokal 2017 .

As host, Alba Berlin was automatically qualified for the Final Four. The three other places for the final tournament were played on January 22, 2017.

The Final Four final tournament called TOP FOUR took place on February 18 and 19, 2017 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin .
