The previously existing cup competition of the German Basketball Federation was no longer held.

mode

For the qualification for this competition, the positions of the Basketball Bundesliga 2010/11 after the first half of the season were decisive. In addition to the host of the Final Four tournament, the six best-placed teams in the first round table were also qualified. If the host was among the first six best-placed teams, the seventh-placed team was also qualified. The pairings were determined by lottery, which also decided on the home right in the qualifying round. The winner or advancement in the competition was determined in the knockout system within a regular basketball game. There was no second leg; if it was a draw after 40 minutes of regular playing time, extensions of five minutes each were played until a winner was determined at the end of an extension.

The winner of the competition was automatically qualified for the BBL Champions Cup at the beginning of the following season of the Basketball Bundesliga .

Event

The host was the defending champion Brose Baskets from Bamberg . Because of the better direct comparison after the first half of the season, Telekom Baskets Bonn were able to qualify for the competition. Without exception, the home teams were able to win in the qualifying round. On the Top Four weekend from April 2 to 3, 2011 in the Stechert Arena , last year's host and double winner Brose Baskets was able to defend his cup title.
