Reyshawn Antonio Terry (born April 7, 1984 in Winston-Salem , North Carolina ) is an American basketball player . During his studies he won with the Tar Heels of UNC at Chapel Hill , the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship 2005. Although the NBA Draft was selected in 2007, he played a game in the doped highest professional league National Basketball Association . As a professional, he won the EuroChallenge 2008/09 with Virtus Bologna and the German double in 2011 with Brose Baskets .

Career

Terry moved from high school in his hometown to study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in his home state in 2003 . The college's Tar Heels basketball team is one of the leading teams in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and produces a large number of professional basketball players. During Terry's time on this team, the Tar Heels could qualify for the NCAA national finals every time . In 2005 he won the championship with his teammates Marvin Williams , Raymond Felton , Rashad McCants and Sean May, among others , Terry was only a supplementary player within the team. In his senior year he reached the quarter-finals Elite Eight of this prestigious championship, which was lost to the Hoyas of Georgetown University , together with sophomore Tyler Hansbrough , among others .

In the NBA Draft 2007 he was selected by the Orlando Magic, but their rights to Terry in a player swap to the Dallas Mavericks . After they finally did not provide him with a longer-term contract, he played in the 2007/08 season in the Greek A1 Ethniki for Aris from Thessaloniki . With Aris he reached third place in regular time, but retired in the first play-off round for the championship. He then only signed a contract in the Italian LegADue with Vanoli from Cremona in December 2008 , for which he played eight games. Here he was able to recommend himself for the first division side Virtus Bologna in the Lega Basket Serie A , which took him under contract in late January 2009 for the rest of the season. After losing the final in the Italian cup competition against double winner Montepaschi Siena in front of their own audience in Bologna , they won the title at the same place in the Final Four tournament in the European club competition EuroChallenge 2008/09 . After a fifth place in the main round, however, they were eliminated in the first play-off round of the national championship.

For the 2009/10 season Terry moved to Obradoiro CAB from Santiago de Compostela , who competed as a newcomer under the name Xacobeo Blu: sens in the top Spanish ACB league . Here, however, it was only enough for the penultimate place in the table at the end of the season, so that the club had to relegate again. In the summer of 2010, Terry played again in the NBA Summer League for the Portland Trail Blazers . After he was again not signed for the season in the NBA, he finally signed a contract with Brose Baskets from Bamberg in the German basketball league . The double winner of the previous year his two national title in the 2010-11 Basketball Bundesliga defend successfully. In the highest European club competition ULEB Euroleague 2010/11 , however, they were eliminated after the preliminary round. Then Terry played in the Basketball Superliga Ukraine for Chimik from Yuzhne , who also failed in the first play-off round for the national championship. For the 2012/13 season Terry got a contract with the Lebanese champion Champville SC, which is affiliated with the Collège des Frères Maristes Champville in Dik el Mehdi. There he plays with the Georgian Nikoloz Tskitishvili , among others . After one season he got a contract with the French LNB Pro A at Le Mans Sarthe Basket, where he played with former Bundesliga players DaShaun Wood and Vaughn Duggins , among others . Although Terry won the league cup Semaine des As with the club , but in the play-offs of the championship, the old master was eliminated as third in the main round in the first round.

In the 2014/15 season Terry played again in Lebanon, this time for Tadamon Zouk in the Keserwan district at Jounieh . Terry spent the spring and summer of 2015 in the Caribbean , where he first played in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional of Puerto Rico for the Maratonistas from Coamo and then in Venezuela for the Trotamundos from Carabobo . Finally Terry played for the Cañeros from La Romana in the Dominican Republic , with whom he moved into the final series of the national championship, which was lost to defending champion Metros from Santiago de los Caballeros .
