World Cup of Darts 2012

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Cash Converters World Cup of Darts 2012 was a major tournament of the Professional Darts Corporation and was played from February 3rd to 5th, 2012 in the Hamburg sports hall . At the World Cup of Darts there is a team of two players per nation. The two best placed players of a nation always play and during the competition there are also double matches, which is not the case at any other PDC tournament.

The defending champion was the Dutch team that won the final in 2010 with Raymond van Barneveld and Co Stompé . However, Team Netherlands, consisting of Raymond van Barneveld and Vincent van der Voort , was eliminated in the semifinals against Australia ( Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson ). Australia again lost the final to England ( Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis ).
