Darin Young (born February 2, 1973 in White Haven , Pennsylvania ) is an American darts player .

Career

In it Young made his world championship debut at the PDC as part of the PDC World Darts Championship 2005 . however, he was eliminated from the Dutchman Josephus Schenk . The following year he was able to qualify again, but failed again in Round 1, this time against Mark Dudbridge . Four years later he reached the second round of the 2010 World Cup after defeating Andy Smith in his first round game . However, he had no chance in his second game against Terry Jenkins and lost 4-0.

In the Las Vegas Desert Classics, on the other hand, he was able to advance to the second round four times. In 2008 he was able to win the North American Darts Championship and bring in prize money of 15,000 US dollars . At the Grand Slam of Darts in the same year he prevailed in his group, but lost to Raymond van Barneveld in the round of 16 . In the following year he failed in the same round at the Scot Robert Thornton . Since 2010, Young has represented the United States at almost every World Cup of Darts . In 2012 he was able to move into the quarter-finals with Gary Mawson .

In his first participation in the US Darts Masters 2019 he showed a good match against Michael van Gerwen and only lost 4: 6. In 2019, Young qualified for the 2020 World Cup via the CDC Tour . His opponent in the first round was Raymond van Barneveld , who had announced before the tournament that the World Cup would be his last tournament. Young was able to prevail in this game and thus ended the Dutchman's career. In the second round he met Jeffrey de Zwaan , against whom he missed a match dart and in the end lost the game 2: 3.
