The album received mixed reviews. Florian Peking from laut.de praised it as a “very good street rap album”. He also said: "With this record, the people of Hamburg also show how you can combine tried and tested hardness and authentic uncompromisingness to create a modern rap record that not only sounds contemporary, but also wonderfully unique."

The rap.de site judged: “ Ebbe & Flut continues the idiosyncratic style of the 187 Strassenbande and enriches the protagonist's profile with some interesting facets without losing any of the familiar charm. Gzuz and his colleagues involved remain tough, dangerous and anti-social. "

The Backspin Hip Hop magazine awarded 7.5 / 10 points.

Lukas Maier from MZEE praised the in-house producer Jambeatz in his criticism , who runs up to top performances. In addition, the album is the "high point of a flood that runs through all of Germany".
