High & hungrig 2 is the second collaboration album by German rappers Bonez MC and Gzuz . It was released on May 27, 2016 on the label Auf! Keinen! Fall! , distribution was taken over by Chapter One Universal Music .
background
After the first part of High & Hungry appeared in May 2014 , the successor was announced in March 2016. At the beginning of April the tracklist with the respective features was announced. High & Hungrig 2 was released in three different versions: as a normal standard edition , as an iTunes edition including instrumentals and as a limited deluxe box . The box includes the album on CD, the instrumentals that bonus EP minor matter of the 187 street gang -Rappers Sa4 , leaflets, key rings, Grinder, stickers and more zip bags.

High & Hungrig 2 was, as usual with the releases of the 187 Strassenbande , completely produced by Jambeatz . Mixing was also done by Jambeatz together with Bonez MC. The cuts come from DJ Chino, the mastering was done by Roboton Studio.
Cover design
The album cover shows Gzuz and Bonez MC , both of whom are wearing brightly colored striped sweaters. Gzuz is on the phone while Bonez MC holds a shoe in his hands. The cover was designed by the artist Bobby Analog and is based on the sitcom The Prince of Bel-Air .
Guest Posts
In addition to the protagonists, other artists are represented on seven songs on the album. The rappers Capuz and Sa4 can be heard on Legendär , while the latter is also involved in Unser Park . The main thing loud is a collaboration with the rapper Hanybal and the rapper Kontra K appears on Alles okay . Furthermore LX on Optimal represented the rapper Maxwell on model and continue to fly single .

High & Hungrig 2 entered the German album charts on June 3, 2016 and was able to stay in the charts for a total of 36 weeks. The album reached position 2 in Austria and Switzerland.
The album was ranked 20th in the 2016 annual German album charts and 5th in the hip-hop annual charts.

In March 2016, the first music video was released with Optimal , further videos followed for the songs Intro and Meine Couch . After the album was released, a total of ten songs on the album made it into the German single charts.
Sales figures and awards
In 2016, the album was awarded a gold record for more than 100,000 units sold in Germany, before receiving a platinum record in September 2019 for more than 200,000 units sold.

The album received mostly positive reviews after its release. For Backspin , High & Hungrig 2 is a “prime example of German street rap .” In addition, the positive development compared to its predecessor is praised: “The production looks rounder, the rap more pointed and Bonez MC in particular impresses with its flow variation.” There is one rating the album to 8.5 out of 10 points.
Laut.de gave the album four out of five possible points and the author Marvin Müller stated that Bonez MC & Gzuz "is also relying on its strengths in 2016: It remains raw, unadorned and in the face." At the same time, it is noted that that the album would also leave the impression that there was still room for improvement. The author continues to praise the pieces Blättchen and Ganja as well as Rum Cola , in which Bonez MC toying with the dancehall genre .
