The sampler 3 is the third sampler of the Hamburg hip-hop group 187 Strassenbande , at that time consisting of the rappers Bonez MC , Gzuz , Maxwell , LX , Sa4 and Hasuna. The album was released on January 30, 2015 via the independent label High & Hungrig Entertainment and is distributed by distri . It was released as a standard edition and box set, including instrumentals and bonus EP.

Almost the entire album was produced by Jambeatz , the music producer of the 187 street gang. Only the instrumental for dangerous comes from PMB

Cover design

The album cover is in black and white and shows the lettering 187 Strassenbande between different ornaments. At the top of the picture is The Sampler and the number 3 is in all four corners of the cover.

Guest Posts

In addition to the musicians of the 187 street gang, other artists appear on five songs on the album. The Berlin rapper Kontra K can be heard on the songs Unter uns and So foreign , while the Frankfurt rapper Hanybal has a guest contribution on No Problem . The rappers Fatal and Momo are involved in the plays Sirp and Tatsachen , respectively .

The bonus EP of the box set also includes guest appearances by rappers Omik K. , Nate57 , Capuz and Svaba Ortak.

Sampler 3 entered the German album charts at number 2 on February 13, 2015 and was at 55 and 81 in the following weeks before leaving the Top 100. In Austria the album reached position 16 and in Switzerland position 18.

In the run-up to the album release, music videos for the songs Schnapp! , Dangerous , Compton and No Problem .

Laura Sprenger from laut.de rated Der Sampler 3 with four out of a possible five points. The 187 street gang present themselves “still high & hungry” and do what they do best on the album: “Celebrate themselves uncompromisingly against all odds”. The rappers bring "audible and tangible motivation plus a lot of fresh air" to the scene. The songs Intro , Favorite Number , Facts and Sirp are positively highlighted , while the songs Friday and Until the situation escalates are seen as weak points.

Skinny from the website rap.de also rated Der Sampler 3 positively. The individual rappers would "harmonize well with each other" and would have "a well-deserved special position in street rap". However, Bonez MC, Gzuz and Maxwell are superior to the other members in terms of rap technology. Overall, the sampler works “as a complete work” and delivers “flawless street rap” with strong beats and flows that “cast a spell over the listener”.

Florian Peking from MZEE was also positive in his review of Der Sampler 3 . The 187 Strassenbande take "a completely justified role in German street rap." As qualities he names "tough street stories [that] meet crazy punchlines and ignorantly rapped rhymes". But he also praises the productions. So is The sampler 3  "a harmonious overall product jambeatz under the strong intervention of domestic and Hofproduzent can boast its own sound."
