Eberhard Heiße

Eberhard Heiße (born March 17, 1933 in Crottendorf ) is a German youth evangelist , employee of evangelical youth work , author and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit . He was one of the most famous youth pastors in the GDR.

Life

Eberhard Heiße grew up in Crottendorf in the Ore Mountains as the son of a master tailor with three other brothers.

From 1947 to 1950 he learned the trade of gardener in Thum . From 1949 he worked as a volunteer in Protestant youth work in Thum. After working as a gardener for a while, he began training as a deacon in the Stephanus Foundation in Berlin-Weißensee in 1951 . He completed this in 1958.

His first place of work was the home of the Hope Valley Foundation Lobetal in blossoms mountain near Lichterfelde. His tasks included setting up a nursery and working with the mentally handicapped and uneducated young men.

From 1962 to 1971 he worked as a deacon for children and youth work in Artern , in 1972 he moved to Marienberg . As district youth warden, he was responsible for youth work in the Marienberg church district. His duties also included the unofficial pastoral care of the soldiers of the 7th Mot. Rifle Regiment “Max Roscher” of the NVA .

In 1988 he moved to Annaberg-Buchholz . There he worked as a parish deacon in the ev.-luth. Parish of St. Annen . During the fall of the Berlin Wall he was one of the organizers of peace prayers and demonstrations. After the reunification he used the new possibilities and founded a YMCA in 1992 and an open youth center in 1993.

In 1997 he received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon "for tireless service to people before and after the peaceful revolution". Heiße retired in 1998, but continued to volunteer in youth work until 1999.

Since 1999 he lived with his wife in Sonnewalde until he moved back to the Erzgebirge in Raschau in 2014 . The Hot couple have five children.
