Eberhard von Hager

Eberhard von Hager (* 1723 ; † November 11, 1790 ) was a Prussian lieutenant general , chief of infantry regiment No. 38 and knight of the Pour le Mérite .

Life

Hager's family comes from Livonia . In 1742 he changed from Holsteiner to Prussian service and in 1750 came to Regiment "Schlieben" No. 22 and in November 1756 he became Premier Lieutenant . Then staff captain and in March 1758 he received his own company . On August 17, 1762 he was already a major and after the storm on the Leutmannsdorfer heights he received the Pour le Mérite. On June 28, 1772 he became lieutenant colonel and on May 24, 1776 colonel and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession . In 1783 he received the Fusilier Regiment "Anhalt" No. 38 . On May 20, 1784, he was appointed major general .

In March 1790 he was appointed director of the First Department of the Upper War College, where he replaced Major General August Wilhelm von Vietinghoff , who took over his regiment. On August 11, 1790, he was appointed lieutenant general, but he died a little later on November 11, 1790.

He married Auguste Dorothea von Hagen on June 26, 1767 in Stargard . The marriage ended in divorce and she married a Count von Blankensee. From the connection came the son:

On January 10, 1784, he married Charlotte Juliane von Blankenburg (* August 20, 1761) from the Luppin family. The couple had no children. The widow married on January 30, 1798 Lupold Christof von Wedel (* December 10, 1742 - April 7, 1803) from the Cremzow family.
