Eckart Sonnleitner (born February 26, 1963 in Lasberg ) is an Austrian painter .

Life

Eckart Sonnleitner graduated from the Federal College for Civil Engineering , then studied visual education in Linz and philosophy , psychology and education in Salzburg . He graduated from the painting and graphics master class at the Linz University of Design in 1994 with distinction.

Eckart Sonnleitner has been a freelance painter since 1994. He specializes in the motif of heads and uses a wide variety of materials such as oil, egg tempera , woodcut and others. “In a convincing way, these“ heads ”(...) also realize a comprehensible, personal understanding of reality. Eckart Sonnleitner's works show an irrepressible will to create and great formal power and, step by step, form a multi-faceted image structure. "

Since 1999, Sonnleitner has been working as an artistic supervisor in the field of video film / animation at a social facility for mentally ill people and teaches image composition and art history at an institute in Kefermarkt (Upper Austria) .

The artist lives and works in Linz . His works are in the possession of public and private collections.
