Eckhard Fuhr (born February 12, 1954 in Groß-Rohrheim ) is a German journalist and author . As an active hunter , he is a member and deputy chairman of the Brandenburg Ecological Hunting Association (ÖJV Brandenburg).

Life

Fuhr studied history and sociology in Freiburg im Breisgau .

He began his journalistic career in 1986 as a political editor for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung . There he was initially the editor responsible for the “Current Affairs” page, and in 1997 head of the internal affairs department. From 2000 to 2010, Fuhr was head of the features section of the daily newspaper DIE WELT . Since April 2010 he has been the correspondent for culture and society for the WELT titles.

In 2005 his book appeared about the Berlin republic Where we find ourselves , which he claims to have written against the “furor of German self-hatred”. The self-hatred "that immigrated from the milieu of the academic left into the new economic elite in the course of the 1990s " no longer reflects the generally recognized self-image of Germans. Instead, life "came to an end in the shadow of Hitler's trauma ," and a new self-awareness is appropriate.
