Edward "Eddie" Johnson (born February 10, 1919 in Richmond , Virginia , † July 30, 1974 in Cleveland , Ohio ) was an American racing driver .
Career
Eddie Johnson has contested 33 races in the AAA National Series and the USAC Series in his career . He achieved his best result with a third place in 1959 on the Trenton circuit. He also competed 15 times in the Indianapolis 500 . He achieved his best placement with the sixth place in 1960 , with that he also achieved a point for the drivers' championship of the Formula 1 world championship since the 500-mile race from 1950 to 1960 was part of the world championship.
Eddie Johnson died in a plane crash near Cleveland in 1974.
