The Edelsberg is a 1630 meter high mountain in the Bavarian part of the Allgäu Alps . At the summit was one of the southern endpoints in the first Bavarian main triangular network .
Location and surroundings
The Edelsberg is located on the northeastern edge of the Allgäu Alps, right on the edge of the Alps. Important valley locations on Edelsberg are Nesselwang in the north , Pfronten in the east and Jungholz in the southwest. About 600 m north of the summit is the subordinate summit of the Alpspitz ( 1575 m ). The independent Reuterwanne ( 1541 m ) is located two kilometers to the west .
Routes to the summit
The summit is easy to reach via forest roads and hiking trails. The quickest access is from the north via the nearby mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn Nesselwang .
