Edgar March

Edgar Marsch (born April 6, 1938 in Oberleutensdorf , Czechoslovakia ) is a German-Swiss German scholar and literary scholar.

Life

Edgar Marsch studied German , English , folklore , philosophy and law at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg from 1959 to 1965 . In Würzburg he became a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. Cheruscia Würzburg in the CV . In 1962/1963 he spent a semester abroad at the University College of North Staffordshire, now Keele University . In 1965 he passed his first state examination for teaching at grammar schools, and in 1967 his second state examination. In 1967 he was with the Germanic work "Biblical chronology and chronograph seal" to Dr. phil. PhD . In 1964 he became a research assistant to Beda Allemann in Würzburg and Bonn.

In 1971 he received a reputation as a visiting professor at the University of Friborg in Friborg ; In 1972 he was appointed professor. Since 1985 he has been an associate professor for modern German literature and literary didactics . In 2006 he became the farewell lecture "Kriminaltango for Edgar March" emeritus .

Marsch was involved in various commissions in the field of teacher training. He was president of the jury for the University of Freiburg's Literature Prize.

His main areas of research were genre theory and history as well as analytical narration, techniques and structure of analytical literature. He received special attention for his work in the areas of crime novels, crime narration and litigation literature.

• 1968 - Admission to the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem
• 1968 - Prize of the Lower Franconian Memorial Year Foundation for Science, Würzburg (dissertation)
• 2006 - Honorary Glauser of the Friedrich Glauser Prize ; Honorary award of the group of German-speaking authors ( Das Syndikat ), awarded on April 30, 2006 in Koblenz on the occasion of the 20th Criminale
