Edinburgh East and Musselburgh was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was founded in 1999 as one of nine constituencies of the election region Lothians introduced. In the course of the revision in 2011, the constituencies were redesigned and the constituency of Edinburgh East and Musselburgh abolished. The areas went largely in the new constituencies of Edinburgh Eastern and Midlothian North and Musselburgh . It comprised eastern and northern areas of Edinburgh and the city of Musselburgh . In the 2001 census survey, a total of 75,014 people lived within its borders. The constituency sent a deputy.
