Edith Noeding

Edith Renate Anita Noeding Koltermann (born November 3, 1954 in Lobitos, Piura , Peru ) is a former Peruvian athlete who was successful in the 100-meter hurdles and pentathlon . In 1975 she won the Pan American Games on the hurdles course.

At the South American Championships in 1971 , she won three medals a month before her 17th birthday. With 5.58 m she took third place in the long jump, 80 points behind the Brazilian Aída dos Santos she received silver in the pentathlon and with the 4 x 100 meter relay she also reached second place. The following year she finished 24th in the pentathlon at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich. At the South American Championships in 1974 she won the titles in the 100-meter hurdles and in the heptathlon; with 1.65 m she received silver in the high jump, with 5.91 m bronze in the long jump and with the relay she won the silver medal again.

The Pan-American Games in Mexico City in 1975 made it possible to increase performance in the high-altitude disciplines. Edith Noeding increased her best time in the 100 meter hurdles to 13.56 s and won the title in 13.68 s, ahead of the American Deby laPlante . Edith Noeding won her last major international medal at the South American Championships in 1977 when she was able to win the 100-meter hurdles again.

With a height of 1.70 m, her competition weight was 58 kg.
