Edmond Hédouin (born July 16, 1820 in Boulogne-sur-Mer , † January 12, 1889 in Paris ) was a French painter , etcher , lithographer and illustrator .

Life

Hédouin came to Paris, where he became a student of Célestin Nanteuil and Paul Delaroche . Even during his training, Hédouin found his artistic focus in genre painting . Again and again he addressed rural life in nature. His scenes from Spain are considered the most successful.

His four medallions for the Théâtre français also became famous in the 1860s.
