Edmund brother
Edmund Bruder (born July 21, 1845 in Angstedt , Schwarzburg-Sondershausen , † September 8, 1911 in Wismar , Mecklenburg-Schwerin ) was a German organ builder in Wismar.
Life
Edmund brother came from Angstedt (not Augstedt ) in Thuringia. He probably learned organ building there nearby (possibly from Johann Friedrich Schulze ?), As his register plates were later made of porcelain with a gold rim, based on the Thuringian model. In 1869 Edmund Bruder was named as an employee of Friedrich Wilhelm Winzer in Wismar, Mecklenburg, when the organ was being built in Kalkhorst . He stayed there even after Friedrich Albert Mehmel took over the workshop in 1873.
In 1877 Edmund Bruder started his own business in Wismar, as the second organ builder besides Mehmel's workshop. In 1889, after his death, he received the maintenance orders for all organs in the Wismar office. In 1902 the organ builders named Bender und Bruder ; There is no further information about this employee so far.
Organs (selection)
Edmund Bruder exclusively built slider-drawer organs. These were of good quality and sometimes had pedal transmissions or extensions. Five new organs are known in Mecklenburg , as well as conversions, relocations, repairs and maintenance contracts. The organs in Polchow , Witzin and Leussow have been preserved (this was previously in Mirow).
