Organ games Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Organ Games is an organ festival in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that focuses in particular on historical organs in the country's villages and small towns. Since 2019, concerts and musical services have been taking place on three extended weekends in May in three different regions of the country.
The aims of the festival are: u. a. the presentation of the historical organ landscape of the country, especially the romantic organs and the promotion of the intangible UNESCO world cultural heritage "organ building and organ music". The concept includes cooperation with parishes or development associations in the venues. The festival also includes a music education project.
The media partner is the North German Broadcasting Corporation .
Structure and structure
The festival was founded in 2018 by Andrea Aßelborn, Franz Danksagmüller , Friedrich Drese and Helga Trölenberg . Helga Trölenberg is responsible for the overall management of the festival. Franz Danksagmüller is the artistic director . As organ expert and head of the Malchow Organ Museum, Friedrich Drese provides impetus for the selection of the venues.
The festival is run by the non-profit association Windladen e. V., whose board member is Andrea Aßelborn. The association is based in Zarnewanz near Selmsdorf .
Program and artist
The program of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Organ Games is dedicated to the following focal points:
- Concerts with musicians from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
- Concerts and projects with church music students
- Concerts with foreign musicians
Whenever possible, the concerts take up the special features of the concert location, the venue or the organ.
