Edmund Heller (State Secretary)

Edmund Heller (* 1953 in Lindlar ) is a German political official ( CDU ). Since June 30, 2017 he has been State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Education, profession and academic activity

After High School (1972) took Heller 1973 first a study of agricultural sciences on, changed in 1974 to German / Philosophy . He completed his studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn , the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen and the University of Cologne and graduated in 1979 with the state examination. After working as a staff school teacher (1979-1980) Heller was a research assistant at the Philosophy Department of the University of Münster (1981-1985), a doctorate "Nietzsche's failure at work" in 1986 with a thesis on the Dr. phil. and subsequently worked as a research assistant (1985–1990) and assistant (1990–1996) at the Philosophical Seminar I at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . From 1996 to 2000 he worked at Harpen AG .

Political career

After Heller was head of the office of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia between 2000 and 2005 , he became department head in the state chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia in 2005 , but returned to the post of the CDU parliamentary group office in 2006. He worked there until 2009, before becoming head of department in the Ministry for the Environment and Nature Conservation, Agriculture and Consumer Protection of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . After the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 , he became managing director of the CDU state parliamentary group under parliamentary group leader Karl-Josef Laumann and exercised this function until he moved to the Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (2014 ) out. In the ministry he worked as a project manager until 2017.

On June 30, 2017, Edmund Heller was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the formation of the Laschet Cabinet by Minister Karl-Josef Laumann .

Private

Heller is married and has three children.
