Career

Piscopo began his motorsport career in karting in 2000 , which he practiced until 2004. In 2005 he switched to the single-seater racing in the US Formula BMW and immediately became fifth in the overall standings. In 2006 he returned to Europe and started both in the Italian Formula Renault , in which he finished third overall, and in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup , in which he was tenth. In 2007 Piscopo switched to the Formula 3 Euro Series at Mücke Motorsport . While his team-mate Sébastien Buemi won the runner-up title, Piscopo took 15th place in the overall standings. After a few races in the 2007/2008 A1GP season , the Italian competed in the Italian Formula 3 championship in 2008 and won the runner-up title behind Mirko Bortolotti . He also took part in the Euroseries 3000 races and the Spanish Formula 3 championship . For his good performance in the Italian Formula 3 championship, Piscopo was rewarded by Ferrari with a Formula 1 test in Fiorano.

After another foray into the 2008/2009 A1GP season , Piscopo switched to the revived Formula 2 in 2009, just like his former rival Bortolotti . At the end of the season, Piscopo finished twelfth overall in this championship. He also competed in three races of the Euroseries 3000. In the GP2 Asia Series season 2009/2010 , Piscopo competed for the French racing team DAMS and took 16th place overall. The Italian then stayed with DAMS and competed in 2010 for the French racing team in the Auto GP , which was called Euroseries 3000 until the previous year. With three second places as the best results, he was runner- up behind his team-mate Romain Grosjean , who had only entered the championship for the third race weekend. He also made his debut in the regular GP2 series for Trident Racing on the penultimate race weekend of the 2010 season and was able to score points straight away. At the end of the season he finished 26th overall.

In 2011 Piscopo left formula racing and switched to Lotus Italia Scuderia Giudici in GT racing in the new Blancpain Endurance Series .
